Paint Visualizer

Before you start buying paint colors, it is very important to understand how darker and lighter colors can totally change the perception of the size. The arrangement of the wall, ceiling, and floor colors and textures can make a room appear taller, longer, wider, or even highlight an anchor furniture piece.

It is also important to think about the furniture that will be in the space. If you are focusing on a bedroom that is small in size, and the bed headboard is dark wood, you may want to paint the wall behind it a lighter color. If the bed headboard is white, a contrasting color is a good idea. You can have a color that is still light, but a contrast to white, (to keep the small room seem bigger). If your flooring is light color, an area rug can change the perception of space as well.

After Painting a room

Once you have painted a lighter wall color to make the room feel bigger, your furnishings can make a room look smaller and dull. Adding lighter colors in your furniture can brighten up a room and make it feel bigger. In this case, adding a rug, repainting the sideboard, replacing pillows, adding a contrast ottoman, and adding light colored lamps made a HUGE difference. We ran an extension cord under the rug. I also found this old wood boat that I turned into Wall Art. The anchor furniture pieces including the couch, loveseat, end tables are all the same.
